Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Morning: Depart from Kampala or Entebbe and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for its high concentration of primates.
Afternoon: Stop for lunch in Fort Portal, a scenic town with views of the Rwenzori Mountains.
Evening: Arrive at your lodge near the park. Relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the trek.
Activities:
- Scenic drive with stops for photography.
- Optional visit to Bigodi Wetlands for birdwatching and community tours (if time allows).
- Accommodation: Budget, midrange, or luxury lodge near Kibale Forest.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Morning: Early breakfast, then proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing.
Trekking: Spend 2–4 hours tracking chimpanzees with experienced guides. Observe their playful behaviors, grooming rituals, and interactions.
Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
Optional Activity: Visit the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided walk to spot other primates, birds, and local flora.
